Initiated and led by Julie Amer, Founder of Mountain High and supported by Land Rover, the official sponsors of the event, this adventure challenge will run from 15th - 20th of October.
The aim of the project is to bring together people from diverse backgrounds, nationalities, genders and age-groups for a common cause of controlling the spread of Diabetes by using the 'power of three - awareness, education and prevention'.
The challenge will involve a test of intelligence, initiative, team spirit as well as physical fitness, navigational skills and a positive attitude. It is a magnificent journey into the past, traveling through some of Jordan's most spectacular architectural wonders, exploring the rich heritage of this magnificent city, living the life of a Bedouin while hunting for the ancient hidden pots containing the knowledge to save the World from Diabetes.
The line-up of activities will include an exciting treasure hunt, hiking up Jordan's highest peak (Jebel Um Adami at 1830m) sand ski-ing, kayaking, camel trekking ,map reading, raft building and off-road driving through the breathtaking terrains of Jordan. Starting from Amman, the team will make their way to Aqaba, across to Wadi Rum then on to the Rose Red City of Petra, which has been nominated one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. The finishing point will see the team at the lowest point on Earth - the Dead Sea at 415 meters below sea level.
The teams will be taken in and out of their comfort zones across desert, mountains, sea and the King's highway, putting to test their ability to cope with the unexpected all along the way.
