Thai delegation visits DP World

The Thai delegates were received by Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Group CEO, Ports and Free Zones World, and Mohammed Sharaf, CEO, DP World.

Welcoming the visitors, Mr Bin Thaniah said: "DP World is always ready to extend its relationship with Thailand and explore new ways of enhancing our cooperation. We are happy to see our operations at Laem Chabang Port have been well received in Thailand and contribute positively to the Kingdom's trade growth. Laem Chabang International Terminal operated by DP World in Thailand provides professional terminal services supported by high-technology applications.

The initial concession comprises a 400 metre wharf covered by four post Panamax cranes backed by twelve rubber tired gantry cranes in the 18 hectare yard. Handling rates averaging in excess of 30 moves per crane hour are achieved using a proprietary brand control and management system.

The new concession at C3 comprises a 500 metre wharf covered by four super post Panamax cranes and back up by a further 12 rubber tired gantries in a 22 hectare yard. These cranes are twin-lift cranes capable of over 40 moves per hour.
