Thai delegation visits DP World

A team of senior officials headed by General Komkrich Sriyabhandha, visited DP World earlier this week seeking to explore further cooepration opportunities with the Dubai-based global port operator, encouraged by the success of Laem Chabang International Terminal (LCIT) under DP world's management.
Welcoming the visitors, Mr Bin Thaniah said: "DP World is always ready to extend its relationship with Thailand and explore new ways of enhancing our cooperation. We are happy to see our operations at Laem Chabang Port have been well received in Thailand and contribute positively to the Kingdom's trade growth. We will continue to work to help meet Thailand's growth by developing our group's activities wherever it makes sense."
The leader of the Thai Delegation, General Sriyabhandha, said: "DP World's involvement has helped bring upgraded marine services to Laem Chabang. Their high quality operational expertise provided us with enhanced reliability and visibility.We hope to further expand the cooperation with DP World in developing new opportunties in Thailand across a broad range of ventures."
Mohammed Sharaf, CEO of DP World, said: "DP World is committed to the continuous development of our customer's business activities in Thailand by providing great customer service. We plan to increase momentum by examining additional business opportunities.
Laem Chabang International Terminal operated by DP World in Thailand provides professional terminal services supported by high-technology applications.
The initial concession comprises a 400 metre wharf covered by four post Panamax cranes backed by twelve rubber tired gantry cranes in the 18 hectare yard. Handling rates averaging in excess of 30 moves per crane hour are achieved using a proprietary brand control and management system.
The new concession at C3 comprises a 500 metre wharf covered by four super post Panamax cranes and back up by a further 12 rubber tired gantries in a 22 hectare yard. These cranes are twin-lift cranes capable of over 40 moves per hour.
