Malta Prime Minister visits Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City

H.E Prime Minister of Malta, Lawrence Gonzi, today led a high level Maltese delegation on a visit to Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City, member companies of TECOM Investments.

The delegation was received by Abdullatif Almulla, CEO of TECOM Investments along with Jamal Abdulsalam, Executive Director of Dubai Internet City (DIC), Mohammad Al Mulla, Director of Dubai Media City (DMC), Hamad Huraiz, Executive Director of the International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) and Senior Management of SmartCity.

The visit follows the unveiling ceremony of the masterplan for SmartCity Malta that took place on September 10th at the GITEX 2007 Dubai Internet City Community Zone.

In discussions held on the sidelines of the visit, the delegation was briefed on details of the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 and the specific services extended within Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City.

Commenting on the visit Abdullatif Almulla, the CEO of TECOM Investments said: "The visit by H.E the Prime Minister of Malta to Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City has further strengthened our partnership with the great country of Malta.

"We had very fruitful discussions on the future and strategic direction of our joint initiatives. TECOM Investments is strongly committed to Malta and we are confident that this partnership will continue to grow in the coming years."

Jamal AbdulSalam, Executive Director of DIC, said: "To be recognized for our work is always great; but to be able to claim that other countries such as Malta have decided that our successful module can add value to their ICT businesses is an honor."

Mohammad Al Mulla, Director of Dubai Media City, said: "Dubai's knowledge based models and creative initiatives enjoy a strong proven track record, placing it on the international map."

The visit gains significance in light of TECOM Investments' growing partnership with Malta through initiatives like Maltacom and the SmartCity Malta project.
