The opening is in line with the bank's strategy to expand in strategic locations close to growing customer bases. Located in the Al Musaffah Industrial Area in Abu Dhabi, the new branch will service the rapidly growing banking needs of individuals and businesses in the growing industrial hub.

"The opening of our third branch in Abu Dhabi represents NBD's strategic aim of expanding our core business by identifying growing customer bases and addressing the banking needs of individuals and businesses alike. Today's opening will enable NBD to extend the Bank's commercial and financial operations in part of Abu Dhabi's new growth corridor and reflects the growth in the core businesses of the Bank," said Suvo Sarkar, Group Head Retail Banking, NBD.

The branch was inaugurated by Mr. R. Douglas Dowie, Group Chief Executive, NBD in the presence of other top executives of the bank.

The new Al Musaffah branch will open from 8:00am to 2:00 pm from Sunday to Thursday. The branch is fully equipped and is capable of providing the various retail and corporate banking services. The branch is also equipped with automated banking lobby which provides 24/7 access to NBD's ATM and Cash Deposit Machine for the convenience of the banks' customers.

In June this year, NBD was awarded the prestigious Asian Banker Award for Best Retail Bank in the UAE for the year 2006. The award recognizes NBD as an outstanding player in the retail financial services industry.
