Customs transactions to hit 12m

The number of customs transactions in Dubai is expected to reach 12m by 2012, reported Gulf News citing official statistics. Dubai Customs is forecasting a 300% lift in transactions mainly due to the numerous large-scale development projects in the emirate which will spur economic growth and boost population levels. Dubai Customs is upgrading its IT systems to handle the step up in traffic expected when Dubai World Central comes on stream.
