The multi award-winning airline is setting new standards in aviation by becoming the first of its kind to fly to and from the United Arab Emirates; the first to fly a non-transatlantic route and the first to offer a private terminal experience at both ends of the route.

Silverjet, which currently flies between London and New York, has chosen Dubai as its second international route over other short-listed locations in light of its status as one of the world's fastest developing commercial centres and its booming business relationship with the UK. Premium air traffic between the two cities is growing at 20 per cent year on year and Silverjet aims to complement increased demand by offering an unrivalled business class service at highly competitive prices.

In a first for Dubai aviation, Silverjet will be the only scheduled airline to use the 5,000 square foot private Executive Terminal at Dubai International Airport for arrivals and departures. As with the airline's private terminal at London Luton Airport, passengers will be able to enjoy a luxury lounge environment, chair-side check-in and immigration, WiFi facilities, dedicated security and a 30 minute check-in.

On board the Boeing 767 aircraft, customers will enjoy a 'private jet' experience with 100 premium 6'3' flat beds, a 'sleeper service'* for overnight flights, an advanced digital in-flight entertainment system, specially designed menus, ladies-only toilet and exceptional levels of customer service with 10 highly trained cabin crew on board to attend to customers needs - one of the highest ratio of cabin crew to passengers of any commercial airline.

On flights to and from Dubai and London Silverjet will also offer Halal meals, Arabic menus and a Qibla service. All Silverjet cabin crew, who are recruited predominately from service industries rather than other airlines, receive guidance in cultural awareness as part of the airline's extensive customer service training procedures.

The innovative airline will offer travellers the ability to check-in via the web, choose their seat online and pre-order a range of made-to-order meals. A private chauffeur service and valet parking is also available at both airports.

Lawrence Hunt, Founder and CEO of Silverjet, said: 'We are delighted to be starting flights to and from the United Arab Emirates later this year and look forward to becoming the airline of choice for business executives and premium leisure travellers flying between Dubai and London. We have received phenomenal feedback from customers who have enjoyed flying with us between London and New York since we launched in January 2007 and we are confident that air travellers from the Emirate will embrace our unique service offering, which focuses on providing a personal, luxury, relaxing and private travel experience at value for money prices. We look forward to welcoming customers on board soon.'

In advance of the first inaugural flight, Silverjet plans to visit Dubai to showcase its products and services to air travellers, businesses and the travel industry at large at the Dubai Airshow. During 11th-15th November, visitors to the show will have the opportunity to see the exclusive features of the aircraft and meet members of the airline's senior management team.

Silverjet is the winner of the first Condé Nast Traveller Design and Innovation Award for Aviation 2007, Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Award for Best Business Class Only Airline 2007, Environmentally Aware Airline 2007 awarded by the Institute of Transport Management (ITM) and Best Airline Website 2007 awarded by Travolution.

The airline will take bookings from today, with the first flight on sale for the 19 November, 2007. A daily flight will depart Dubai at 10.30 and arrive into London Luton Airport at 14.45. Return flights from London Luton will depart at 21.00 and arrive in Dubai at 0830. A connecting flight to New York Newark departs London Luton at 16.45 and arrives at 19.45. All times are local.

A chauffeur service is available for customers requiring transport into central London or surrounding areas. In addition transport to the London Luton train terminal is provided free of charge. Trains to central London take approximately 30 minutes.

He felt that the traditional model of business passengers paying higher rates in order to subsidise the cheaper economy seats was nonsensical, and that a business-class only service, based on the single carriage model of low cost carriers, was a viable business idea.

The Company's Managerial team features a huge amount of airline experience: Chairman Peter Owen spent 21 years at British Airways with his final position as Director of Operations until 1990. Since then he has been Chief Executive at Aer Lingus and other high level companies. Martyn Bridger, Customer Experience Director spent 24 years at British Airways culminating in his final role as Head of In-Flight Services for the entire British Airways fleet.
