International Petroleum Technology Conference to address future of energy industry

One of the world's foremost technical conferences for the energy industry - the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) is due to be held in Dubai in December.
The conference will examine critical issues including exploration, environmental issues and solutions for the challenge of energy constraints.
According to research from the International Energy Agency, primary energy demands will more than double by 2030, so the next session of the Conference will provide a critical forum for senior energy professionals to discuss how they can provide sufficient supply to meet global needs.
Executive committee co-chairpersons, Farouk Al Zanki, Chairman and Managing Director, Kuwait Oil Co., and Tony Hayward, Group Chief Executive, BP, are both set to speak at the event, and have encouraged fellow professionals to attend.
"The theme of this year's event - 'A Changing World' - is designed to meet both the major strategic issues and the everyday business and technological challenges of our industry. This year's IPTC will provide an important platform for knowledge exchange and skills development, and I look forward to welcoming our colleagues there," said Al Zanki.
The opening session of IPTC will include addresses from the Al Zanki and Hayward, as well as dignitaries from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Oman. This will be followed by over 50 technical sessions, special panels on climate change, and a series of panel discussions featuring leading industry experts.
With more than 300 presentations covering a diverse range of subjects, including production, midstream gas, and health and safety in the oil industry, the conference is positioned to drive forward discussion about the contemporary and future needs of the energy industry.
IPTC will also feature an extensive exhibition showcasing products and services for the region and the world.
"A Changing World - Interdependence, Innovation and Implementation," will take place 4-6 December 2007at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
