The Chilean National Day is celebrated every year on September 18th, and this year, the celebration coincides with the first week of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The overlap of both occasions served as a source of inspiration for H.E. Mr. Palma to make this generous donation.

Commenting on the contribution, His Excellency said, "The amount we are paying to Al-Aman Fund this year is equivalent to what we usually spend on our National Day celebrations. This year our celebration date coincides with the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a month that is usually dedicated to good deeds, forgiveness, and giving. We have found that through our donation we are embodying what this month stands for, and we have chosen to contribute to Al- Aman Fund in particular because we strongly believe in what the Fund stands for. On this occasion, I salute the Fund's founder, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, for creating an effective means for providing orphans with an opportunity to benefit from a better quality of life and to enjoy a brighter future, and we are honored to be taking part in this noble cause. I wish Al-Aman Fund the utmost success in all its endeavors."

Thanking H.E. Mr. Palma for his generous donation made, Ms. Maha Saqqa, Executive Director of Al-Aman Fund said, "On behalf of the beneficiaries of Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, I thank Mr. Palma for the generous donation he has made, for we, at Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, primarily depend on the contributions made by our good willed supporters."

It is worth mentioning that Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans is an independent non-governmental organization founded in 2006 by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah. Al-Aman Fund equips orphaned youth, who graduated from orphan care centers at the age of 18, with the education and skills necessary to become successful, self-reliant and productive members of society.

This is done by operating five Support Schemes responsive to their needs. The Support Schemes are: Educational Scholarships, Coverage of Living Expenses, Counseling, Apprenticeship & Employment, and Medical Insurance.
