ADTA delegation wins European Foundation of Quality Management certification

A three-member delegation of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the apex body that manages Abu Dhabi's tourism sector, has won the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) certification.

The prestigious citation was won after the ADTA delegation completed the theory and practical examinations set by the Brussels-based organization.

The ADTA delegates received a European Assessor certificate entitling them to co-evaluate European organizations and to assess the performance at ADTA using European standards and best practices.

The ADTA delegation was represented by Khalid Mohammed Al Hashimi, Administration Director; Dr.Fawaz Abu Sitta, IT Manager; and Mohammed Khalfan Dhahiri, Manager of Quality Performance and Management Manager who are member of ADTA Team to handle all requirements and standards demanded by Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.

Mr Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, ADTA Director General, said that the prestigious certificate won by the delegation would play a significant role in advancing their professional capabilities and enhancing core competencies in evaluating, developing and implementing the standards of government excellence.

Al Muhairi urged the delegation to utilize these competencies towards developing all professional aspects at ADTA. "The acquired skills will positively reflect on the operations and elevate our activities to higher levels. This will, in turn, help us achieve our objectives and meet the government excellence requirements that are adopted in its operations and plans across the board," he said.

"ADTA strives to develop the efficiency of its employees in all possible ways to implement our vision and mission that is focused on serving the Abu Dhabi tourism sector to the best of abilities. Having three European certified assessors on board will ensuring achieving objectives with a faster pace," he said.

Essentially, all practices implemented by the Abu Dhabi Government are similar to European Government Excellence standards, and also take into consideration the emirate's unique culture and economic and social trends.

It is worth mentioning that the total number of assessors worldwide is 1070 , and 57 UAE assessors, representing 5 per cent of the total, have to date achieved the European Quality Management Assessor status.
