Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi lays foundation stone for the RAK Medical and Health Sciences University

In his address to the gathering, His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi congratulated the RAKMHSU team on obtaining the initial accreditation and establishing the different health sciences programs in such a short time. He emphasized the commitment of the Ras Al Khaimah government to provide quality education and make RAK an industrial, tourist and educational hub.

The function also saw the inauguration of the orientation program for the second batch of MBBS students at the present campus of RAKMHSU. The Vice Chancellor Dr. S Gurumadhva Rao, who welcomed the gathering, highlighted the achievements of the RAKMHSU during the last one year, which included the initial accreditation for Dental, Pharmacy and Nursing programs in addition to the existing medical program. "This is the first health sciences university in the UAE having all the four health sciences programs," he added.

The other partners of RAK Human Foundation Development, the body that sponsors the RAKMHSU, Mr. Syed Salahuddin, Managing Director, ETA Star Group and Mr. Essa Al Ghurair, Director, ETA Star Group and Al Ghurair Investments also graced the occasion. Mr. M. Riazuddin, Director of Finance, the Dean, the Faculty of RAKMHSU along with students and parents also attended the ceremony.

Dr. Meer Mustafa Hussain, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai, India was the special guest on the occasion. He shared his happiness in seeing RAKMHSU growing into a health sciences university in such a short time.
