The charity oasis pool, which is situated in the main atrium, is the key activity that is happening in the Mall during this Holy month. The fanoos lantern is the main symbol for Ramadan and you will get a chance to light your own fanoos and set it to sail in the pool by donating a minimum of 10 dirhams to charity.
Wafi is selling a range of merchandise that incorporates Tim Flach's images for the chosen charity. Tim Flach, the famous photographer, has provided Wafi with unique prints of traditional Emirati icons: stallions, camels and falcons; that provide a true image of the local culture. Profits from the total sales will go to the Red Crescent.
Freej, the most popular 3D animation cartoon series in the Middle East, has also joined us this Ramadan to share joy and happiness amongst children and adults. There is a special seating area with real life size Freej characters for customers to have their photographs taken with, and two plasma screens for children to sit and watch the series. Freej will also be selling different items as well as DVDs and a percentage of the total sales will go to the chosen charity.
Last but not least, you can have your name written in beautiful Arabic calligraphy art to keep as a memento of the special moments that you've spend during the Holy month of Ramadan in Wafi. The calligrapher will be available starting from 9 pm during Ramadan.
"Wafi has plenty to offer its customers during Ramadan with all the different activities for children and adults," said Victoria Smith, MKM Marketing Director.
"The main aim is to raise as much money as possible for the good causes of a UAE based charity organization, the Red Crescent, to sustain their local projects throughout the coming year. I believe that the different activities will attract more customers and encourage them to make donations. We are honoured to have Tim Flach and Mohammed Saeed Hareb to support Wafi, especially that Freej is very famous and loved by all adults and children."
