Overwhelming response to Emirates Aviation College Open Days
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, September 13 - 2007 at 10:42
- PRESS RELEASE
The Emirates Aviation College (Aerospace & Academic Studies wing) has received a record number of applications from young school-leavers interested in joining the thrilling world of aviation.
Enrolment on the day exceeded the number of applicants predicted for many of the programmes, necessitating the use of classrooms for the new academic year at the adjacent Emirates Training College, with its eye-catching aircraft design.
Aviation professionals, such as pilots and air traffic controllers, also attended the two-day event to find out more about degree-level management courses.
In order to cater to the demand of the market, the college has expanded the faculty to include new professors from across the world with expertise in the fields of tourism, business management, aeronautical engineering and air traffic control.
Mohammed Al Budour, Vice Chancellor of the college, said: "The growth in the aviation industry in the Middle East, and especially in the UAE, has accelerated considerably in the last few years, creating an urgent requirement for highly-trained aviation specialists.
"Emirates is very pleased to be at the forefront of this exciting development by offering the relevant training programmes in order that the region's aviation industry will thrive and continue to be successful in the years to come."
The Emirates Aviation College, close to Dubai International Airport, offers a wide range of academic and vocational training programmes in aeronautical and aerospace engineering, business management, tourism management and air transport management, as well as flight dispatch and air traffic control courses. The college is an approved centre for the Aviation English Language Proficiency Test.
The recently-launched MBA in Aviation Management programme, in conjunction with the UK's Coventry University, will commence in early November.
