The project is a prestigious multi-purpose development comprising a total of five towers ranging from 53 to 77 floors.
'We are very pleased that Arabian Construction Company has chosen us for this impressive building project, which follows our recent cooperation agreement on the Capital Plaza development in Abu Dhabi,' comments Eric Maziol, KONE EVP, Area Director for West and South Europe. 'This order continues to strengthen KONE's presence in the Abu Dhabi high-rise market.'
The towers will be located on the waterfront site close to Abu Dhabi's central business district. The building complex will feature a five-star hotel, a boutique shopping mall, a hypermarket, an office tower and luxury residential apartments. The Etihad Towers development is set to be one of the most prestigious projects in Abu Dhabi.
The towers will be equipped with 62 elevators and 9 escalators. When installed, the fastest elevators will travel at the maximum speed of 7 m/s and the highest travel distance will be 295 meters. The installation of the equipment will start in March 2008 and is planned to be completed in September 2009.
