Key appointments at RTA

This step comes in continuation to a series of actions taken by RTA to give opportunities to the national young highly qualified employees to assume key positions.

These decisions are taken to implement the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-president Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in addition to attracting distinct and experienced employees for contributing to ensure the ambitious vision and strategic objectives of the RTA, which can be summarized to provide "Safe and Smooth Transport for all."

The decisions involved the appointment of Engineer Ahmed Al Mahmud as Director of Project Management and Logistic Support Department at the Corporate Support Services Sector. He holds a Higher Diploma Degree majored in Civil Engineering Technology from the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai. He also got a BA Degree graded excellent and majored in Construction Engineering Technology, in addition to obtaining a professional certificate in project management from George Washington University of the USA. In the meantime, he is dedicated to obtain a Master Degree in Project Management from the British University of Dubai.

Al Mahmud has gained various work experiences through working for several prestigious organizations such as the Ministry of Public Works and the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Dubai World Trade Center. It is noteworthy that Al Mahmud is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) in the United States.

The appointment also included Engineer Salem Saeed Al Nuaimi as Deputy Director of Project Management and Logistic Support Department at the Corporate Support Services Sector, in addition to his position as Manager of Projects Implementation at the Project Management and Logistical Support Department. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the University of the UAE in 1996. Al Nuaimi occupied several positions before joining the RTA, including Project Manager at Dubai Properties, Chief Engineer at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Architect at Dubai Municipality. He is a member of several associations including the UAE Association of Engineers and UAE Fine Arts Associations.

The decisions also included the appointment of Engineer Majid Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi in the post of Manager of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment at the Public Transport Agency. He holds a Master Degree in Quality Management from the Australian University of Wollongong in Dubai this year and a BSc Degree in Engineering majored in Construction Engineering Management from the School of Engineering, California State University, Long Beach of the USA in 2001. Al Shamsi before joining the RTA occupied a number of positions including Project Engineer in the Emirates Petroleum Corporation "Emarat." He is skillfully well-versed on quality management.

The decision also included the appointment of Amna Al Suwedi as Human Resources Manager at the Rail Agency. She holds a BA Degree in Business Administration from the University of the UAE in Al Ain in 1992. Prior to joining the RTA, she occupied a number of positions including Manager of Recruitment and Manpower Planning in the Commercial Bank International, Dubai.
