A Consortium representative said: "we understand the image that people have of contractors, most people automatically think of the inconvenience caused through the work, but they miss out that we, as a consortium, believe that we have a social duty to satisfy."

The representative added that "we constantly try to give back to the community as much as we can, whether it is by making donations, doing what we can for the public's comfort, or having environmentally friendly designs and equipment in our projects. In this case, a truckload of mattresses, pillows and pillow cases were donated to Dubai Charity Association."

Adnan Al Hammadi, Director of Construction Rail Projects, Rail Agency said, "We are glad to hear about DURL's generosity. We are proud of the fact that despite the busy work schedule involved on the project; our contractor is aware of the community's wellbeing and is making substantial efforts to ease the situation in Dubai. The Rail Agency in particular and the RTA in general encourage such corporate social responsibilities.

The Dubai Charity Association acknowledged the donation and thanked the consortium for its generosity; the 400 bedding pieces will be sent to the hospital that the Charity is sponsoring in Africa, where it will benefit many patients.
