- PRESS RELEASE
Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) was the first Dubai government official to ride the Solartaxi that KHDA received while en route its world tour titled 'Around the world on solar power'.
Students from the higher educational institutions at the Dubai Academic City got a chance to speak with Louis Palmer, the 35-year old teacher, adventurer and eco-motorist whose global tour aboard the Solartaxi aims to raise awareness about switching from fossil fuels to solar energy, encouraging manufacturers to come up with products that use alternative energy resources.
Louis Palmer says, "The Middle East has the potential to lead the world in solar energy use because of the plentiful supply of sunshine. It is important to engage the youth in the process of sustainable development as they are the future. Being amazed and welcoming the idea of solar energy is not enough, we must get the youth to do more."
