Yemen, $178m from tourism

  • Yemen: Sunday, September 23 - 2007 at 06:42

Yemen's tourism revenues have increased significantly in H1, with a total of $178m achieved, when compared to earnings of $145m for the whole of 2006, reported the Yemen Observer. Tourists from Saudi Arabia account for 67% of all Arab visitors, while holidaymakers from the UK top the list of those arriving from Europe. But a suicide car bomb which killed seven Spanish tourists in July could well hit H2 earnings.
