World Central Airport is currently under construction at Jebel Ali in Dubai, which upon completion will handle 120 million passengers per annum, using 6 parallel runways.
Park Air Systems air traffic control systems will facilitate the landing and tracking of aircraft at the airport, whilst ensuring reliable communications via an integrated communication system.
'Dubai World Central is one of the biggest on-going transport infrastructure projects in the world,' said Alan Bourjeily, General Manager - Aviation Division, Data Processing Systems (DPS). 'We are delighted that after a competitive selection process, PARK AIR Systems were selected on the basis of offering the best, both in terms of value and technology. As it develops and grows over the coming years PARK AIR Systems will help the DCA ensure the safe and expeditious control of aircraft at this key airport,' added Bourjeily.
'Park Air Systems has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality air traffic control solutions throughout the world. We are confident that Park Air will deliver us a world-class system suitable for this world-class airport,' said Mr. Khalifa Al-Zaffin - Director Engineering & Projects, Dubai Civil Aviation
In detail, Park Air Systems & Data Processing Systems will be delivering the NOVA 9000 Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS). This system will manage the tracking of aircraft and vehicles on the ground using surveillance systems based on radar and multi-lateration. The system will further assist the efficient management of air traffic, particularly in periods of high traffic volume and during adverse weather conditions.
Aircrafts arriving at World Central Airport will benefit from the use of the NORMARC 7000B Instrument Landing System (ILS). To be delivered are two complete Cat III-b ILS systems, one for each end of the first operational runway at the airport. The Normarc 7000B is the world's leading ILS system, using state-of-the-art technology to ensure safe and precise landings, even under the most difficult visibility conditions.
Park Air's integrated digital end-to-end communication system will provide ground to air voice communications with all aircraft using Dubai World Central. The system is a seamlessly integrated combination of the PAE T6 MDR (Multimode Digital Radio), and the GAREX 220 VCCS (Voice Communication Control System). This system will enable controlling and monitoring of key radio functions directly from the ATC operator position.
Other projects recently won in the UAE include the provision of a new communications suite of radios at Abu Dhabi International Airport, in relation to the new 2k Runway Project. Also adding to the success is the delivery of the digital end-to-end communications system at the General Civil Aviation Authority in Abu Dhabi. An upgrade of the Approach Radar Display System at Fujairah International Airport will include Short Term Conflict Alert, and Minimum Safe Altitude Warning functionalities.
As a result of its successful presence in the Gulf region, and the significant number of projects awarded, Park Air Systems has decided along with Data Processing Systems, to deploy a Dubai-Based Service Centre. The service centre will stock spare parts for all Park Air products, and also train personnel to provide fast, and quality assistance to customers throughout the region.
