Swayme Day Beach construction kicks off

The Development Investment Projects Fund (DIP Fund) announced the signing of an agreement with Madanat Contracting Company, for the construction of the Swayme Day Beach Resort.

The project construction works are scheduled to commence before the end of September and are set for completion by June 2008. The Swayme Day Beach will be developed on a 25,000 square meter site on the Eastern shore of the Dead Sea, approximately 4 kilometers south of the hotels area.

The $ 25 million resort will cater to all age groups. The design allows for absorbing some 2000 users daily. Guests will have access to a remarkable chain of sun decks around a number of swimming pools and children play areas. Users will enjoy a variety of themed restaurants supported by live music. The site will also cater for special events, weddings and private parties.

Mr. Akram Abu Hamdan, Commissioner General of the DIP Fund and Director General of Mawared said 'The Swayme Day Beach is an important anchor in providing more things to do for visitors of the Dead Sea. It is a new phenomenon in sea-side entertainment and a stimulating haven for day users'.

The Swayme Day Beach project is set to become among the key Dead Sea destinations, hosting in addition to its 270 meter long beach front; one large swimming pool, one VIP pool, one dead sea water pool, sun decks, gardens, and a 400 sqm kids play area.
