Qafco may halt bonds sale

Industries Qatar may delay the sale of bonds to help finance the construction of a chemical plant due to increased borrowing costs following the recent global credit crunch, reported Reuters. The Qatar Fertiliser Company (Qafco), a unit of Industries Qatar, is seeking $1.2bn to support the building of a urea and ammonia plant, according to our sister publication the Middle East Economic Digest. Qafco had earmarked October for the sale.
