Etisalat donates 25 million dirhams to 'Dubai Cares' campaign

Etisalat today announced a contribution of 25 million dirhams to the 'Dubai Cares' campaign in addition to mobilizing all its technological capabilities to allow more people to join this campaign which has been launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

The first stage of this campaign targets 1 million children in under developed areas in Asia and Africa who are deprived of the right to proper education.

Etisalat also launched an awareness campaign to promote the 'Dubai Cares' Campaign by sending SMS to over 6.2 million subscribers across the country. The subscribers can also donate through six codes dedicated by Etisalat to the Campaign which aims at a better world where children are allowed their right to a proper education and health care.

Etisalat will also offer the 'Value SMS' service which will help large enterprises communicate with their employees and encourage them to contribute to the campaign.

Mohammad Hassan Omran, Chairman, Etisalat said: 'This initiative expresses the deep humanitarian feelings and the sense of compassion towards all humanity as highlighted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. This is also an unprecedented initiative in the history of mankind'

He added: 'It is an honor to take part in this campaign. We have donated 25 million dirhams and we will also facilitate the donation process through our network for our subscribers'.

Mr Omran also called upon all Etisalat subscribers and all public and private businesses in the UAE to engage in the campaign which was launched in the holy month of Ramadan. He also highlighted the historical role of the UAE in contributing to the humanitarian efforts worldwide.
