- PRESS RELEASE
Axis Communications the global leader in network video1 announced today two ultra-compact cameras, AXIS 209FD Network Camera and AXIS 209MFD Network Camera, designed specifically for indoor locations that require smart, non-invasive cameras, such as shops, reception areas, offices, and corridors.
AXIS 209FD and AXIS 209MFD cameras are only 4 cms high and are easy to install on ceilings and walls. Equipped with Power over Ethernet capability, the network camera uses one Ethernet cable for both power and video, making installation quick and cost efficient.
The cameras use progressive scan technology to provide sharp images of moving objects and deliver simultaneous Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 video streams that allow optimization of image quality and bandwidth efficiency. The cameras are supported by the industry's largest range of application software through the Axis Application Development Partner program, and the AXIS Camera Station video management software.
AXIS 209MFD offers the advantage of megapixel resolution, making it possible to view image details needed for identifying individuals and objects of interest. AXIS 209MFD with its ultra-compact design is another significant addition to Axis' comprehensive portfolio of megapixel cameras ranging from AXIS 207MW, the world's smallest wireless megapixel network camera, to AXIS 223M, a 2.0 megapixel network camera used for demanding video surveillance needs.
AXIS 209FD and AXIS 209MFD will be available through Axis' distribution channels in Q4.
