Bureau Veritas holds talks with Dubai Customs World to boost DCW Services worldwide

A high level French delegation from the global quality assurance group Bureau Veritas visited DC World today (September 24) to discuss mutual interests and business potential.
Mr. Ahmad Al Marri, Director, DC World, welcomed the delegation and spotlighted the various mutual points that DC World can share with Bureau Veritas.
Mr. Ahmad Al Marri said: "Bureau Veritas is a global provider of quality assurance services and corporate compliance solutions including Customs management, and we are ready to share our collective and cumulative expertise in innovative customs management to jointly enhance ICT position in the business world."
"We consider this visit as a strategic move that will help increase the efficiency of trade operations and will draw the global evolution of customs around the world," he added.
Elie Sawaya, Government Services and International Trade, Bureau Veritas, said: "DC World is the leader global customs solutions provider. This visit is to identify DC World services that we can offer for our clients to facilitate their trade processes."
"Our clients are mainly governmental organizations and we are keen to enhance the quality of services we provide for them especially in the IT -based arena. DC World offers us a secure information exchange via online portals and a robust and reliable software solutions package," he added.
DC World presented a documentary showing its development and global presence emphasizing on services offered including management and assistance in customs operations, customs consultancy and management of customs free zones.
The presentation showcased the e-services provided by DC World and Farida H. Mohammed, Sr. Manager support management, DC World spoke of the successful model of customs management they set up in Djibouti.
A presentation on Mirsal World was given to the delegation showing the efficiency and secured online applications.
They briefed the delegation on the features of Mirsal World including the valuation reference and IPR protection control in addition to post clearance audit control.
They discussed customs duties valuation according to the unified code system with rates based on the tariffs in country of origin, protection from revenue leakage and other facilities such as updating of corporate data through e-compliance audit, risk management and free zone and bonded warehouse management features.
Commenting on Mirsal World, Sawaya said: "This is a state of the art solution present in the market and it provides a comprehensive set of innovative tools in customs management."
Farida Mohammed said: "DC World stands on the front rows of modern computerized solutions providers; we have offered our products to a vast spectrum of global markets. Later, Farida Mohammed accompanied the delegation in their tour in DC World departments to further explain the inspection procedures, DC World operational processes and e-clearance service.
