- PRESS RELEASE
Citrix Systems, Inc., the global leader in application delivery infrastructure solutions, today announced a successful run in this year's GITEX 2007.
At GITEX, Citrix presented its entire range of end-to-end, integrated app delivery solutions. This included Citrix NetScaler® 8.0, which has an established track record of delivering many of the world's most demanding and high-profile web applications, and Citrix WanScaler™, which is a completely transparent, end-to-end solution for all IP-based WANs, eliminating the need for any changes to current network management tools, firewalls, network services or applications. Citrix also had the latest Presentation Server™ on display at the major IT event.
Working with strategic distribution partner, Mindware, Citrix also reaffirmed its commitment to the regional market through key interactions with resellers and customers. The company also met with prospective resellers for WanScaler during the event.
Speaking on Citrix's participation in GITEX 2007, Antoine Aguado, Regional Manager, Citrix Systems ME remarked: 'GITEX has always been an exciting week for us. Continuing with the success of our previous participations, we enjoyed an excellent run in GITEX 2007 as well. The event was an excellent platform for us to unveil emerging technology and educate customers and prospects about the latest products and strategic movements within Citrix."
At GITEX, Citrix also announced the recent move to acquire XenSource, Inc. of Palo Alto, Calif., a privately held leader in enterprise-grade virtual infrastructure solutions, for approximately $500 million. This acquisition moves Citrix into adjacent server and desktop virtualization markets, expected by Citrix to grow to nearly $5 billion over the next four years. The combination of Citrix and XenSource brings together significant customer, technical, channel and go-to-market synergies, and will be of great relevance to customers and prospects in the Middle East.
