Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans appointed in September of this year Ms. Maha Saqqa as the new Executive Director.
Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Al-Aman Fund, Ms. Lina Kopty commented on Ms. Saqqa's appointment and stated that Ms. Saqqa will be a valuable addition to the Fund's team. "We are proud to have Ms. Saqqa on board as we are confident that her past experiences and passion for community development will serve as a valuable asset to our organization,"
From her end, Ms. Saqqa said, "Having worked with several International and local development organizations, I am proud to have contributed through my work to the development of this community. My past working experiences were focused on the management of education and social development programs. Through my current post at Al-Aman Fund, I plan to bring about real and lasting change to the lives of susceptible Jordanian women, children, and youth. The culmination of this contribution will be to deploy this experience in leading the professional team at Al Aman Fund to secure a brighter future for orphans."
Prior to joining the Fund's team, Ms. Saqqa took on the posts of International Programs Manager at the CISCO Learning Institute, Jordan Office, Programs Manager at the British Council, and Micro-Credit Manager at the Queen Alia Fund (Currently JUHUD respectively). She also worked with several NGO's including the Department for International Development (DFID/UK), the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA), the Save the Children Federation (SCF), and others.
It is important to note that Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans is an independent non-governmental organization founded in 2006 by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah. Al-Aman Fund equips orphaned youth, who graduated from orphan care centers at the age of 18, with the education and skills necessary to become successful, self-reliant, and productive members of society. This is done by operating five Support Schemes responsive to their needs. The Support Schemes are: Educational Scholarships, Coverage of Living Expenses, Counseling, Apprenticeship & Employment, and Medical Insurance.
