- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, September 29 - 2007 at 16:41
- PRESS RELEASE
Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders (SME) today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Global Village, a member of Tatweer, to promote the entertainment and culture destination as an ideal business location for national entrepreneurs.
Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, and Abdul Redha Ali bin Redha, CEO of Global Village, signed the MoU in the presence of senior officials.
Al Janahi said: "We are pleased with the overwhelming support that the Global Village continues to accord our members. This agreement provides us with an opportunity to be associated with one of the most prominent and commercially dynamic locations in Dubai. It also fulfills our mission to support UAE nationals to actively participate in the country's economic growth.
"Given the multicultural environment of the location, young entrepreneurs will gain the chance to interact, learn and benefit from other experienced traders."
Ali bin Redha said: "Global Village constantly seeks to identify opportunities to improve its offerings - commercially and non-commercially - keeping in mind the benefit and returns to the community.
"Our agreement with SME reaffirms Global Village's commitment to develop national entrepreneurs. We are confident this initiative will benefit their businesses while empowering them to play a wider role in the progress of the country."
The deadline for SME members to submit applications for the establishment is 15 November 2007.
Through initiatives such as the Government Procurement Programme (GPP) established in 2002, SME continues to create an enabling environment for young entrepreneurs, providing them with access to government and private corporations.
Global Village 2007-2008 will be held from 13 December 2007 to 1 March 2008. Located in Dubailand on Emirates Road, it will be open from 4.00 pm to midnight Sunday through Wednesday, and from 4.00 pm to 1.00 am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
