ADTA has been showcasing the tourism potential of the emirate in three international expos. Recently, it took part in the JATA World Tourism Congress and Travel Fair (JATAWTF2007) in Tokyo, and is now participating in Leisure Moscow 2007 and Top Resa held in Deauville, France.

Al Muhairi said: "These successful marketing programmes enhance our partnership and inter-investment with the private sector, which plays key role in helping ADTA achieve a number of its objectives. Along with its partners from the private sector, ADTA's strong presence at key international tourism events emphasizes the increasingly important role of the emirate's tourism sector on the international arena. He also praised the efforts of the active companies in tourism sector such as Emirates Palace, Alraha beach hotel, Planet travel tours, net group, and Abu Dhabi airport company .

Al Muhairi said that Abu Dhabi's tourism sector is geared for a new phase of development and expansion in terms of infrastructure, with several major projects underway, and the nature and number of tourism products planned for the near future. "This demands intense promotional programmes and aggressive participation in international events in 2008, through exhibitions, forums, conferences and industry gatherings. Abu Dhabi will also host a number of international events that bring key decision makers from world tourism to the emirate."

"ADTA adopts a multi-pronged strategy focused on promoting Abu Dhabi as a unique tourist destination in the region with multi-cultural dimensions, offering the highest quality travel, hospitality, tourism and business services; facilitating access to Abu Dhabi and movement between the emirate's cities; and introducing innovative differentiating products and services. We recognize the need to put in place a smart sustainable promotional plan that leaves visitors with a memorable tourist experience," he said.

Abu Dhabi has already scooped great success from its first-ever participation at Asia's largest specialized tourism event, JATA 2007, held for the third consecutive year in Tokyo. The event attracted more than 770 exhibitors from 131 countries.

Represented by ADTA, Abu Dhabi participates in the 13th edition of Leisure Moscow, the International Trade Fair for Tourism and Travel, held from Sept. 25 to 28. ADTA's pavilion will host 14 Abu Dhabi-based tourism organizations.

ADTA is also participating at the Top Resa hosted by the French city of Deauville from September 26 to 28. The exhibition plays a vital role for the world tourism industry, by providing a platform for tourism and related services officials and experts from all over the world. Participants have the chance to share their experiences, present promotional programmes and sign deals.

In 2006, 390 exhibitors representing 1,350 brands (of which 30 per cent were from France) received nearly 16,000 visitors.
