The on-line recharge facility launched by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in cooperation with Dubai e-government for Salik users has gained strong response with more than 7,000 transactions made within a week of its launch.

The on-line recharge service, available on Salik's official website www.salik.ae, enables users to add further credit to their Salik account through three payment options: credit card, e-dirham or direct debt from the user's bank account.

"The on-line recharge service has been well-received by Salik subscribers as it saves effort and time," said Engineer Maitha Bin Adai, CEO of the RTA's Roads and Transport Authority of RTA. "The new bilingual on-line service reflects RTA's keenness in providing the best services to the public with a diversity of options to be in line with the modern demands of the society."

She added: "The online recharge facility highlights the innovative services offered by RTA to Salik users. We are committed to providing several options for the public by allowing them to add credit to their accounts without any additional fees."

Salik subscribers can now check their balance on-line and view the number of crossings they made through the toll gates located at Garhoud Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Road near Mall of the Emirates. They can also amend their personal data and print out financial statements. Motorists can check their accounts also through the new IVR service offered by the call center by calling 800- Salik (72545) and following the voice instructions.
