The CGI was created by President Clinton to stimulate innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges by bringing together a carefully-selected group of the world's best minds and most distinguished problem-solvers.

On behalf of Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, CEO Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber accepted President Clinton's invitation to join an esteemed group of leaders and participate on the CGI Energy and Climate Change panel. The panel is tasked to develop mechanisms for political, corporate and civic leaders to work together in harnessing existing momentum and accelerate progress worldwide in renewable energy and climate change.

In articulating the panels challenge, Dr. Al Jaber shared Masdar's unique, one of a kind, vision of the future for clean energy and environmental sustainability. He explained how Abu Dhabi is striving to be a global leader in new energy technologies, cutting-edge research and development, and advanced education. He even showed how Abu Dhabi is attempting the world's first zero-carbon, zero-waste "green" city of the future.

"Being invited by President Clinton to participate on this panel is a great honour", Dr. Al Jaber reflected. "But more importantly, it provides Abu Dhabi a seat at the table in international efforts to solve the great energy and environmental challenges of our time. It also positions Abu Dhabi as a major clean energy player", he continued.

Dr. Al Jaber further explained, "That Masdar is a vehicle for international cooperation to address energy related issues and sustainable human development. Masdar's goal is to be a global platform for knowledge and innovation to change the way the world understands energy. We want to help drive an historic shift to more sustainable sources and uses of energy. Working alongside the very influential group of world leaders at CGI can only accelerate our progress and contribution and enhances our effort", Al Jaber concluded.

Masdar is a comprehensive Abu Dhabi government program addressing the issues of sustainable energy sources and environmental practices. The program is focused on developing and commercializing advanced and innovative technologies in renewable, alternative and sustainable energies.
