After feedback from Microsoft's commercial customers, the company created the Get Genuine program, which adds volume legalization options for Windows XP Professional.

The GGWA makes it easier for businesses to obtain legal licenses of Windows XP software by offering the solution through Volume Licensing (VL). The GGWA is also another solution that Microsoft has added to the growing portfolio of legalization options, providing customers choices when resolving compliance issues.

Zeid Shubailat, Country Manager of Microsoft Jordan, stated that 'Microsoft is constantly listening to our business customers and partners, so that we can develop programs that help them find a licensing legalization solution. The GGWA is the latest example of ways Microsoft is helping customers to easily and efficiently ensure they are running a genuine copy of Windows.'

He added: 'In addition, once customers sign up with GGWA, it creates a clear path to upgrade to Windows Vista when they are ready.'

With the GGWA, Microsoft will be facilitating the legalization compliance process for commercial customers wanting to legalize Windows XP on the desktop. It also offers reseller partners a new revenue stream and sets them up to build business on a genuine, licensed platform.

There are two types of Get Genuine programs designed to accommodate various customer sizes and compliance needs: The GGWA for small and medium organizations, which is sold by any Microsoft reseller and the GGWA for large organizations, sold by Large Account Resellers (LARs) or directly from Microsoft.
