The ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre was attended by dignitaries, school owners, principals, teachers and students from over 100 schools in Dubai.

Dubai Cares for Schools campaign will engage students in Dubai's schools in fund raising activities during the next three weeks.

Over 150 schools in Dubai have registered online, exhibiting their commitment to the humanitarian initiative and the fund-raising activities to follow. Registered schools will receive by the end of this week, their school kit containing fund-raising vouchers and other awareness raising material.

Every school has assigned a 'school champion' who will manage the campaign activities within the school and be the contact person for KHDA. Parents and members of the public can contact the school champion in a particular school if they need further information.

Each child will receive a 20-leaf voucher book for sale and fund-raising. Single vouchers are priced at AED20 and parents and member of public are encouraged to invest in more than one voucher per each. Furthermore, schools are encouraged to engage in additional fund-raising activities that will add to the contribution.

The last day of fund-raising for the schools is October 18. Funds for the campaign are being collected from the respective schools by the National Bank of Dubai from October 21st onwards. High-achieving schools be invited to the recognition ceremony by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on October 27, 2007.
