Emirates Airline contributes Dhs50m to Dubai Cares

Emirates Airline will contribute Dhs50m to Dubai Cares, a global charitable campaign led by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Announcing the decision, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group said: "Sheikh Mohammed has a tremendous vision for Dubai. Over the years he has led Dubai in launching many ground-breaking initiatives spanning economic and social concerns.

"Dubai Cares is a unique campaign which aims to provide education to less privileged children around the world. This is a very worthy cause, particularly as education is a key enabler for future social and economic advancement in developing countries."

Sheikh Ahmed added: "Through Dubai, Emirates Airline serves an international community that spans more than 90 cities across six continents. We firmly believe in making a contribution to the communities that we serve and we are proud to pledge our full support to Dubai Cares. We are confident that the donation we are making today will highlight the humanitarian face of both Dubai and the airline."

Since its inception, Dubai-based Emirates Airline and Group has actively supported numerous humanitarian initiatives within the UAE and around the world, including disaster relief, healthcare and education for needy children.
