- PRESS RELEASE
Injazat Data Systems, the region's leading Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company, has announced that it has awarded Cisco a contract to design and implement the network infrastructure of its Tier IV Data Centre, a state of the art facility in the region.
Under the terms of the agreement, Cisco will be providing Injazat with technology, services support and extensive knowledge transfer to help optimize the security, flexibility, availability and performance of the Tier IV Data Centre. The infrastructure will be based on Cisco's Service Oriented Network Architecture (SONA) that will help enable the continuous evolution of the Intelligent Information Network to accelerate applications, business processes, productivity and profitability.
The two-storey Injazat Tier IV Data Centre is part of an AED 380 million project that also includes the five-storey Injazat Data Systems Headquarters and an eight-storey car park. The headquarters will house 1,000 employees and facilities such as a 200-seat auditorium, a gymnasium, library and a coffee shop. Once fully operational, the Data Centre will accommodate up to 9,000 servers and associated infrastructure. It will also provide clients with 24-hour security and technical support, on top of a fully-redundant IT infrastructure and a complete line of value-added offerings.
"Cisco's leadership and solid track record in the local and regional markets, positions the company as the most suitable technology ally for the development of the Tier 1V Data Centre. This association will complement our broad range of IT-managed services and will support us in extending our reach across the region," said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO of Injazat Data Systems.
Mazen Jabri, the UAE manager for Cisco said, "Cisco is pleased to help Injazat Data Systems build the backbone of its Tier IV Data Centre. Once completed, this state-of-the-art facility will be a valuable contribution to the development of the IT industry as it will benefit a wide-range of IT clients in the region."
Cisco will also conduct extensive knowledge transfer and training, facilitating a smooth handover of operation. Throughout the different stages, Cisco will provide overall guidance across the various technology solutions, including level 2/3 routing and switching, storage, security and network management.
"This has been a very exciting venture and we look forward to a long-term relationship and even more fruitful collaborations with Injazat Data Systems," continued Jabri.
Established in early 2005, Injazat Data Systems is an Abu Dhabi-based joint venture between Mubadala Development Company, a wholly owned investment vehicle of the government of the emirate of Abu Dhabi; and Electronic Data Systems (EDS), a global IT and business process services giant.
