UAE residents wanting to learn English in the UK are being offered the chance of a lifetime in a new online competition launched by the British
Council and English UK.

The fun 'Let your English Grow' competition (www.letyourenglishgrow.org) is open to UAE residents of all ages and gives would-be students the chance to win one of up to 30 places from more than 200 English language
courses available at top English Language centres across the UK in 2008.

All prizes include free tuition with many also including a combination of accommodation, airport collection, full-board, half-board or a social programme. Each one of the centres is accredited by the British Council and English UK and will provide the best tuition possible in the English language.

To enter, all you have to do is complete the three easy steps below on the website before 31 October 2007. The enjoyable competition helps
explore language skills and sets a creative challenge:

• First, chose which prize, or prizes, you would like to win
• Next, complete the following statement in no more than 150 words 'I
would like to study in the UK because....'
• Finally, entries will be judged and the lucky winners will be
notified by email.

The UK is the global leader in teaching English with an estimated 600,000 learners a year arriving there to use the language in its
natural home. While all parts of the country speak English, different regional accents add to the diversity of the language.

Winners will be able to practice their English in everyday life and experience a variety of UK cultural and social activities - everything
from a night out at the theatre, visits to historic monuments, shopping and entertainment to enjoying the passion of a sporting occasion.

Alison Devine, Deputy Director of the British Council UAE, commented:

"This online competition from the British Council and English UK will give up to 30 winners a wonderful opportunity to learn English in the UK - a friendly, exciting, culturally rich and fulfilling place in which to
live and learn. It couldn't be easier to enter and we hope as many people as possible will take up the challenge by logging on to www.letyourenglishgrow.org.

Those entering the 'Let your English Grow' competition will be able to chose from more than 200 courses at centres in such diverse locations
across the UK as rural Devon, the Roman city of Bath, the industrial centres of Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham, as well as in the
capital London.

"The UK has a world class reputation for providing the best English language courses and thousands of students have benefited from the
experience of learning in the UK."

Winners will need to ensure they have the necessary travel and visa entry documents before taking up their place.
