The Kilimanjaro summit climb was done by Linley Marjolin Sports and Leisure Manager of the company's flagship property the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa.
Linley said, 'Achieving a great goal feels wonderful especially when it's in favour of the needy. I am very glad with all the support extended by the Jebel Ali International Hotels to help and fulfil dreams of many hopeless children'
Jebel Ali International Hotels will sponsor several projects that the Kili Centre is currently working on including recruitment and refurbishment of the centre that provides care and shelter to orphans and street children. The sponsorship will help the centre hire social workers and teachers to facilitate psychological, social and educational needs for the children in addition to playing the role of parents or guardians. Further support will be given to revamp the Kili Centre itself in creating a warm and welcoming feel where children can feel at home.
David Thomson, General Manager Corporate Affairs of Jebel Ali International Hotels said the company is delighted to support the Kilimanjaro Centre for Orphans and Street Children Project: 'It is a honour for us to play a small part in keeping the centre going which is a necessity to street children and orphans who would literally be homeless without it. We are also very proud of Linley for not only coming up with the idea but of course for achieving his goal of climbing Kilimanjaro to make it happen.'
The Kili Centre, located in Tanzania and founded by Michael Mpombo is a registered non-governmental organisation that provides care to orphans and street children. The organization runs a Residential Care Centre were children receive care, shelter, food, clothing, counselling and primary education. The Centre is looking forward to running several different projects such as Research Projects, Community Economic Support Groups and more.
