DC World honoured for its role in supporting Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA)

Hamad Mohammed Fadel Al Mazrooei, CEO, DC World received a memento from Mr. Ibrahim Bu Melha, Chairman, and Dr. Saeed Abdulla Harib Al-Muhairi, Deputy Chairman of the DIHQA organizing committee, at a special ceremony held to honour the sponsors of this year's session of the award.

On the occasion, Al Mazrooei said: 'As part of the Islamic world, we are keen to participate in Islamic social events, and our ultimate goal is encouraging young people to memorize the Holy Quran.

'Acquiring knowledge is a duty of every Muslim, and what could be more noble than acquiring the knowledge available through the Holy Quran. The Award is not only a noble venture; it is a great service to Islam. We appreciate and greatly support Muslim intellectuals and scholars for their unremitting efforts,' he added.

'We are honoured to sponsor this event and be associated with a prestigious Award aimed at instilling the Islamic teachings and the values of this Moderate religion among the young people through noble competitions for Quran recitation,' Al Mazrooei said.

The Dubai International Holy Quran Award is an annual event held in Ramadan. It features, besides the Quran Recitation competitions among young Muslims, a series of lectures in various languages by renowned Muslim scholars.

The winners of the competition were honoured last night (Tuesday October 2) by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the founder and patron of the award.
