The goal is to create awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds to help eliminate it. Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer death in women.
Curves For Women of Cairo has plenty of ways for everyone to get involved. New members who join between October 8 and 20 will pay only 150 LE for the Service Fee when they bring in a minimum 150 LE donation to The Breast Cancer Foundation of Egypt or show proof of a current mammogram (within the past year.)
Current members who make a minimum 30 LE donation to The Breast Cancer Foundation of Egypt will receive a donation certificate that will hang in their club, and can be filled out “in honor of” or “in memory of” a loved one.
All Curves For Women members may obtain free mammogram breast cancer screening tests at WAFI during the week of October 21 to 27, by appointment.
Each New and Current member who participates in this fund raising or mammogram screening promotion will have her name put into a treasure chest at her club and will be eligible for a prize drawing on November 1st.
“Curves For Women of Cairo is committed to helping the women in our community live healthier, stronger lives” said Debra Alcala.
“Breast cancer will touch about one in every eight women, but breast cancer death rates are going down. This decline is probably the result of finding the cancer earlier and having access to improved treatment. By encouraging women to get mammograms and rewarding them for doing so, we are helping to fight and even eliminate breast cancer in our lifetime. That’s something we take very seriously.”
