BurJuman's annual Ramadan suhour event held last night saw key players from Dubai's dynamic retail fraternity join forces to express their support to Dubai's new global campaign, Dubai Cares.

His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the suhour to promote the need for education as the best long-term solution to poverty in developing countries.

Mr. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, President of BurJuman, presented Sheikh Majid with a cheque for Dhs5m to support the generous cause. The other members of the retail community including The Landmark Group donated AED 5 million while the Choitrams Group and Jumbo Electronics each made significant contributions of Dhs1m to the cause.

'BurJuman is strongly committed to humanitarian causes and supports Dubai Cares wholeheartedly. We recognize and honor the noble and philanthropic vision of our leaders and are proud to play a positive role in facilitating the success of this global initiative,' said Mr. Majid Al Ghurair.
