The new community initiative, Jumbo Cares, is specifically aimed at supporting the major fund raising charity drive launched recently by His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Under the Jumbo Cares programme that will run for six weeks, a percentage of sales made during this period will be donated to Dubai Cares. Jumbo Electronics has pledged a sum of Dhs. 10 million towards this noble cause.
Announcing Jumbo's contribution to Dubai Cares, Mrs. Vidya Chhabria, Chairperson of Jumbo Electronics, said: "Jumbo has always supported activities that are hugely beneficial to the community and children. Dubai Cares is a wonderful project that gives hope to millions of children, who do not have access to basic education. Our own Jumbo Cares programme will contribute immensely to the Dubai Cares campaign to help put a smile on the faces of less fortunate children."
