Speaking on the occasion of the announcement, Omar Ayesh, President of Tameer, said: "The donation is a small token of our respect to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, to whom we are grateful for launching this important campaign - it tackles a very important issue that is close and very dear to our hearts."
He added: "Tameer's contribution is our response to the call of duty and an expression of our commitment to participate hand in hand with other donors - both individuals and companies - to realise the goals of this campaign."
Launched on 19 September 2007, the campaign is Dubai's contribution to a global drive to help countries achieve their U.N. Millennium Development Goals of providing primary education to every child by 2015 and reflects His Highness' belief that education is a key component to sustainable development and stability in the world.
