Mohammed Amin Al Emadi, Project Coordinator, 'Dubai Cares', said: By offering a secure online payment utility, a greater number of individuals and corporations in the UAE have a chance to easily make a contribution to this worthy initiative. This payment gateway also complements the several convenient options that we are currently offering residents, visitors and businesses who wish to support this campaign. Moreover, a robust online utility such as this is a reflection of Dubai's technologically savvy society."
Salem Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment, said:
"We are pleased to support the 'Dubai Cares' campaign launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed. The overwhelming response this initiative has generated highlights the generous attitude of the people of Dubai and is testament to the emirate's deep-rooted spirit of caring for the underprivileged and the needy - not only in the UAE but anywhere in the world. We are certain that our payment gateway will stimulate significant contributions from businesses and individuals alike, and help in accomplishing the goal of educating 1 million children in various countries."
Dubai eGovernment's ePay payment gateway supports multiple payment methods including credit cards from Visa, MasterCard and American Express as well as the Dubai eGovernment prepaid card and credit cards, eDirham and direct debit from Commercial Bank of Dubai. It also supports multiple payment channels such as Internet kiosks and IVR, and provides a single standard interface for all service providers.
Within the first six days of the six-week 'Dubai Cares' campaign, over Dhs250m had been pledged, surpassing the Dhs200m target. In addition to the business community, the public are also contributing to the campaign via SMS, bank transfer, mailing options, and donation boxes placed in locations around Dubai, and now with the introduction of the online payment utility, the total donations received is expected to see a substantial increase.
