Xerox announces additional multifunction line to its range of office devices

  • PRESS RELEASE

Xerox Middle East and Africa is cutting the time required for businesses to meet document management requirements by adding seven new multifunction systems to its range of award-winning office devices.

The WorkCentre 5600 Series black-and-white multifunction systems are among Xerox's newest and fastest products that print, copy, scan and fax while incorporating the company's Extensible Interface Platform (EIP).

EIP is based on Web standards and allows software developers, as well as customers, to quickly and easily create applications tailored to address specific business challenges. People can access document management solutions that is personalized to meet their needs from the touch screen of the device.

"New WorkCentre systems combined with EIP can leverage software applications to make work easier," said Natesh Mani, Director, Office Business, Xerox MEA. "Expanding our portfolio - which is perhaps the broadest and deepest architecture of document technologies in the world - with productivity enhancements on this scale make Xerox a formidable partner for all its customers."

With speeds ranging from 32 ppm to 87 ppm and total paper capacity of up to 8,700 sheets, the WorkCentre 5600 Series systems can quickly handle anything from general office documents to high-volume print jobs. Office workers can also store frequently printed documents, such as forms or templates, on the device and modify the settings before printing, which eliminates trips back and forth from computer to MFP.

The WorkCentre 5600 Series also offers expanded finishing options for models that operate at 55 ppm and above, including C- and Z-folding and post-process sheet insertion. Scan-enabled models have the ability to create searchable PDF and XPS files.

Xerox's advanced MFP security features protect the document, the device and the transmission path, and are available on all new WorkCentre multifunction systems. An Encrypted Disk and Image Overwrite feature deletes images from the hard drive automatically upon job completion or on demand.

Other software from Xerox and its partners provides the ability to access common business forms directly from the MFP, print on demand from document repositories, and much more. For example, people can preview newly scanned documents on the MFP's display for accuracy and then store them in Xerox DocuShare®, Microsoft Corp. SharePoint or Windows folders, without the need for a pre-defined template. The MFP's touch screen can then be used to browse and print those documents.

The WorkCentre 5600 Series is available immediately across the Middle East & Africa region through the Xerox direct sales force, agents, authorized resellers and dealers and concessionaires. The WorkCentre products meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's rigorous new ENERGY STAR® requirements.
