The solution is directed towards mobile operators and web service providers to better serve their subscribers and online community. It is expected that PlusXMS will increase the web traffic of the web portals that provide SMS services to its community.

The mobile operators' Average Revenue per User (ARPU) is also expected to increase after introducing this service to mobile users according to Dr. Khaled Awad, Bird ICT managing director.

Bird ICT is a business development company based in Egypt with around 10 million Egyptian pounds venture capital investment. Its mission is to create new business ideas in the ICT sector, develop their business models, and deploy them to be independent companies. Bird ICT succeeded in starting up iBlue™ as an independent company fully owned by Bird ICT that develops Bluetooth data communication enterprise solutions. Bird ICT is now introducing PlusXMS as a value added service for mobile operators and web services' providers.

PlusXMS is an extended messaging service that enables mobile and web users to send and receive rich text messages to each other. PlusXMS users can now express their emotions by sending text messages that have different text colors, images and smiley faces, and backgrounds. PlusXMS is a platform that facilitates sending rich text messages from mobile users to mobile users, from online users to mobile users, and from mobile users to online users. It is build out of 3 main pieces: mobile piece that runs on mobile phones, web piece that runs on web portals, and an engine that link any web chatting program with mobile phones.

The key advantage of using PlusXMS is that it uses the same SMS protocol to send rich messages. This means that PlusXMS users will be able to better express their feelings using the rich messaging feature of the PlusXMS at the same cost of normal SMS.

The PlusXMS team is 'open community oriented' working on building 'One Online Stop' for the entire web 2.0 and mobile 2.0 users to meet and share their knowledge. This stop is meant for developers, users, testers, analysts, and everyone who is interested in making PlusXMS a better experience for everybody. Users will be provided by forums to communicate with our management team, suggest new features, give their feedback, participate in PlusXMS events, etc. in addition, this stop will be a place for online users to develop their own content, images, smiley faces, and backgrounds that they like to see in their messages and share it with their community. PlusXMS team is also working on making the PlusXMS platform highly scalable to accept the additions and changes done by the community in addition to being platform independent to work on any computer and mobile platform.

PlusXMS is meant for almost everybody who wants to express their feeling in love, Apology, greeting, friendship, special events, birthdays, anniversaries, winning of your best team, special national events, Islamic events, thanking, summer events, and marriage & wedding. 'PlusXMS adds life to SMS and bridges the gap between mobile and web users when it comes to sending fun messages to each other. It is meant to be for all the people who are bored from using the normal text messages that has no graphical capabilities and those who are tired of putting effort trying to make their SMS look cool. People can now use PlusXMS to express their feelings.' stated Mohamed Kash, Bird ICT business development manager.

As mentioned by Dr. Khaled, PlusXMS will replace the normal SMS in the near future and mobile operators and web service providers who will partner with Bird ICT will get the opportunity to be the first movers to the market.
