Oman Air organises functions in India

India is an important destination for Oman Air and one of its most profitable sectors.
In this regard, Mohamed Bin Salim Al Bulushi, Country Manager India, said, "The Indian travel market is one of the fastest growing in the world, furthermore an important destination witnessing a blooming economic growth and attracting overwhelming numbers of tourists."
"Ensuring its significant roll to connect Muscat with major cities worldwide, as well as to strengthen the deep-rooted relationship between the two friendly nations, Oman Air has recently celebrated its sixth Anniversary of Operations to Cochin. The National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman was the first foreign airline to commence operations from the Cochin International Airport completing six years of its operations on August 22, 2007," Mohamed Bin Salim Al Bulushi said.
"While celebrating our sixth Anniversary of operations from Cochin, awards for the top productive agents in passenger and cargo sales for the year 2005 and 2006 were distributed at a colorful agents award function held, at Hotel Grand, Cochin. Travel agents from Cochin, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, and Trichur & Calicut attended the function."
Mohamed Bin Salim Al Bulushi said that in another event, the winners for the period January to June 2007 of Oman Air's Agents Loyalty Programme (OAALP) - a round the year loyalty organized for the Oman Air handling staff of our agents - were awarded prizes (certificates and gift coupons) during the Onam Feast.
He added that in connection with Onam, the traditional festival of Kerala, Oman Air conducted ATHAPOOKALAM (Flower Carpet) competition for the third consecutive year for the travel agents at Cochin. 26 agents participated in the competition and Akbar Travels of India won the first prize. Omega Travel and Tourist Agency got the runner up prize.
Oman Air also organised Onam Sadhya, (Onam feast) for the travel trade associates in Cochin at Hotel Abad Plaza, which was attended by 600 personnel from the trade in the Cochin region. All functions were attended by Mr. Sunil.V.A., and DSM - COK, Oman Air, Mr. Anil Narula, Director, and GSA - World Air & Mr. Ashok Kumar, Area Sales Manager - GSA - World Air, besides Mr. Mohammed Salim, Oman Air Country Manager India.
Corporate Communications and Media Department concluded notifying that Oman Air has earlier this year launched its eighth destination, Jaipur in India. Oman Air became the first foreign airline over again to operate flights to this tourist city. The airline had earlier, on May 3, 2007 inaugurated its flights to Lucknow, a central Indian city. At present Oman Air operates direct flights to destinations in the Indianan Subcontinent such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Kochi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Lucknow and Jaipur in addition to Chittagong in Bangladesh.
