He is the first Arab, and the first UAE national, to be named a panel member at the prestigious institution.

Al Shared's appointment for a two-year tenure was announced at INSEAD's annual meeting in Fontainebleau, France.

ACME comprises more than 80 senior executives in human resources management from INSEAD's key partners that include global companies such as Shell, BP, Toshiba, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, General Electric and HSBC.

The committee's main role is to ensure INSEAD remains at the leading edge of business education by virtue of its understanding of the requirements for management education and by listening to its corporate partners.

Commenting on his appointment to the INSEAD committee, Al Shared said: "It is an honour for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership Development Programme to be appointed a development partner for management education in one of the world's most prominent business institutions. This is also the first time the Arab world is represented by Dubai in this committee, which reflects the emirate's role in leadership development."

Members of the Advisory Committee on management education at INSEAD meet annually to provide valuable feedback to the INSEAD management and faculty, as well as exchange ideas with peers in a neutral setting.

The committee also provides advice on the needs and trends in Management Education at the MBA, Executive MBA and Executive Education levels. Feedback on existing as well as planned INSEAD programmes and policies, in addition to comments on its Research and Development agenda are also offered by the committee.

Al Shared holds an MBA from New Hampshire College, USA, and is a Certified Assessor for the Dubai Quality Award. He is a member of several international professional bodies that include the Institute of Risk Management, Australia, and the Institute of Internal Auditors, USA. He has been published in a number of refereed professional journals.

INSEAD was founded in 1957 and is widely recognised as the world's most renowned global business school. The institute offers a variety of programmes in BA, Executive MBA and Executive Education levels. So far, over 33,000 students from 150 different countries have successfully graduated from INSEAD.

Over the past two years, INSEAD has been closely associated with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership Development Programme, providing training programmes to develop leadership skills among government employees in Dubai and help them deal with industry changes. The most recent of these sessions was held in April this year in Dubai.
