GCC eyes common market

Abdul Rahman Al Attiyah, Secretary General of the GCC, said the six states that make up the council will announce the formation of a common market during their annual summit at the end of the year, reported Gulf News. The agreement would give citizens of the six states all the same economic rights in each country, including ownership of real estate, stock, and taxation. Al Attiyah said the common market was a 'major step on the road to achieving Gulf citizenship.'
