Property survey graphs

The full results, conducted among AME Info readers, of our Buying Property in the UAE survey.

As part of our report looking at Buying Property in the UAE, we wanted to know our readers attitudes to home ownership in the region.

From whether they owned or plan to own property to what they thought of build quality, readers were asked their opinion and in some cases, given the chance to include their thoughts.

Not surprisingly, Dubai was the most popular emirate as a place to live, but equally as you'll see through the survey results, it also came in for most criticism.

The graphs



Most people have not bought property in the UAE.

As expected, those who have bought have done so in Dubai.

Just shy of 60 per cent plan to buy a property, although many did say they would not, because of the cost. Here people were pointing to prices in Dubai.

Again, Dubai was the lead emirate, although Abu Dhabi attracted almost a quarter of respondents.

Buying to live and as an investment were the two key reasons for buying.

There was a fairly even split between three bedroom villas and two bedroom flats as the main types of homes people planned to buy.

Again, for off-plan or already built, there was an even split for property type.

For those that had bought, or planned to buy an off-plan property, the main reason was because it would be cheaper.

Most people thought property was too expensive. Dubai prices will have been the main reason for this.

Finally, most people though build quality was average or above average.
