- PRESS RELEASE
Jashanmal National Company LLC, a pan-Gulf corporation that operates as a wholesaler and distributor of major international brands and as well as owning a chain of retail and department stores announced it will donate 1% of its gross retail sales through the month of October in all of its 19 stores in Dubai to the Dubai Cares campaign.
"We strongly believe in the old adage 'Give a man a fish, and you have fed him for a day, but teach a man to fish, and you have fed him for a lifetime'. The Dubai Cares initiative incorporates this profound concept. Only through education will children be able to sustain a better and stable life for themselves, and pass on the benefits to future generations."
The Dubai Cares campaign was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai to channel Dubai's philanthropic efforts towards education in poverty-stricken countries around the world. The campaign is Dubai's contribution to drive the U.N. Millennium Development Goal of achieving universal primary education by 2015.
