- Jordan: Wednesday, October 10 - 2007 at 09:40
- PRESS RELEASE
In a joint effort between the Greater Amman Municipality and the Royal Automobile Museum, and in an attempt to raise awareness of Al-Aman Fund for the future of Orphans, His Majesty King Abdullah II's 1994 Harley Davidson Dyna Low Rider is being displayed at the entrance to the museum, along with Al-Aman Fund brochures and a donation box.
The donation box Al-Aman Fund has placed at the museum is one of many donation boxes that are being placed in prime locations such as banks, large shopping complexes, and other selected locations across the Kingdom. These boxes will enable the general public to donate to Al-Aman Fund more frequently and easily regardless of location or size of contribution.
"We, at Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, primarily depend on the donations presented to us by our good willed supporters, as it is those generous donations that in turn help us fulfil our mission, and our strive to provide for our beneficiaries a better quality of life This new donation box is only one out of several we are placing across the Kingdom. We are hoping that with this arrangement we will be making it easier for all to donate money to the Fund, as every fils we receive counts," explained Ms. Maha Al Saqqa, Executive Director of Al-Aman Fund.
Mrs. Al Saqqa further added that the Fund is grateful for the generous donation made by His Majesty King Abdullah II. "His Majesty the King's donation coincides with the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a month dedicated to giving and identifying with the hardships faced by those members of the community less fortunate than ourselves. I only hope that this gesture will inspire more citizens to reach out and give their fellow orphaned community members a chance for a better life", she said.
It is important to note that, Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans is an independent non-governmental organization founded in 2006 by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah. Al-Aman Fund equips orphaned youth, who graduated from orphan care centers at the age of 18, with the education and skills necessary to become successful, self-reliant and productive members of society. This is done by operating five Support Schemes responsive to their needs. The Support Schemes are: Educational Scholarships, Coverage of Living Expenses, Counseling, Apprenticeship & Employment, and Medical Insurance.
Those who wish to make a contribution can do so by making donation deposits in the Fund's bank accounts, placing standing orders at their banks to transfer periodic donations to Al-Aman Fund, placing donations in Al-Aman Fund donation boxes, calling the Donations Hotline at 06 533 0500, or visiting Al-Aman Fund's website.
