Review: Apple iPhone

Love it or hate it, the Apple iPhone has caused waves in the US, where it was the most eagerly anticipated mobile phone launch to date. Thanks to i2, AME Info got hold of the unlocked iPhone and put it through its paces.

As you'll see from the video, the phone has a 'wow' factor, but get past that and it is not all good for consumers. There is no 3G support, for instance, and removing the Sim card from the iPhone is difficult - as we demonstrate.

But you can't deny that thought has gone into other areas, such as the photo manipulation and texting. It makes the first generation Apple iPhone a mixed bag, but that won't put aficionados off buying it once available in the Middle East. For casual buyers though, our advice is wait for the price to drop or the next generation to come out.
